Boxy Cross-Body Bag

Difficulty: ♥ ♥ ♥





Materials: Pop-Tarts box, Paint, Duct Tape (optional), Hole Punch, Craft Eyelets, Rope/Ribbon/Chain/Handle; Decorations;

1. Use Packaging Tape or Duct Tape to tape down smaller flaps.
2. Paint Box with base color, or cover with duct tape.
3. Punch two holes on each side pannel. Aproximately 1.5 cm from the top, and 1.5 cm appart.
4. Hammer craft eyelets into each hole.
5. Paint on patterns and details.
6. Add 3D details. (such as red circle in example)
7. Add Chain/Rope/Ribbon/Handle by threading it through the holes.

Hints and Tips:
         * If you paint, use at least 2 coats of primer, and only acrylic based paint.

Bandage & Tag Get Well Card

Difficulty: ♥ ♥ ♥




Materials: Card/ cardstock #1; Cardstock #2; Cardstock #3; paterned paper; ruler, holde punch; Bandage/ bandage picture; tag and pocket template; glue; ribbon; chalk.

1. Find a good sized card or make one out of cardstock #1.
2. Measure cardstock #2 so that it's 2cm shorter and 2cm thinner than the card face.
3. Use tag and pocket template to make a tag out of cardstock #3 and a pocket out of paterned paper.
4. Punch a hole in the top of the tag and tie a ribbon through it.
5. Find a fun bandage, or print one off of your computer and color with chalk.
6. Glue paterned pocket to the middle of cardstock #2. Glue cardstock #2 to card face. Glue bandage on top of everything.
7. Personalize by writing on the tag and inside.

Hints and Tips:
         * Use chalk to add highlights to printed pictures.

Recycled Pillows

Difficulty: ♥


Materials: Old t-shirt or pants; fiber fill; sewing machine/ needle and thread; rubber bands; ribbon

T-Shirt: 1. Turn shirt inside out. Sew the bottom and sleeves together.
2. Turn the shirt right-side out. Fill with fiber fill.
3. Sew the neck shut.

Tube Pillow: 1. Cut the leg off of an old pair of pants.
2. Use a rubber band to tie off one end. Fill with fiber fill.
3. Tie off the other end. Add ribbon to conceal the rubber bands

Hints and Tips:
         * When sewing the neck line, sew as close to the seam as possible and use thread that's close in color to the shirt. This will make the stitches less noticable.
         * Cut the hem off of the pants so that both sides have similar looking edges.

Coasters

Difficulty: ♥



Materials: Craft square, paper, scissors, mod podge, paint brush

1. Trace craft square onto the back side of your paper.
2. Cut out paper, leaving extra room on each side of the outline.
3. Apply mod podge to the craft square. The mod podge will act as a glue to attach the paper to the craft square.
4. Once the mod podge dries, use scissors to trim the paper so that it fits the square.
5. Apply a thin coat of mod podge on top of the paper and to the sides. This will act as a sealant.

Hints and Tips:
* When trimming the paper, have the paper facing down and the craft square facing up, so you can see how much you need to cut

Locker Pin Boards

Difficulty: ♥ ♥ ♥



Materials: Foam presentation board, foam cork or corrigated cardboard, cardstock paper, scissors, glue stick, hot glue/ craft glue, craft knife, magnets

1. Use the craft knife to cut foam presentation board to desired size. Cut foam cork/ cardboard to same size.
2. Trace the foam board on the reverse side of the cardstock, and cut out.
3. Use a glue stick to attach the paper to the presentation board.
4. Use hot glue/ craft glue to attach foam cork/ cardboard to the other side of the presentation board.
5. Use hot glue/ craft glue to attach magnets to foam cork/ cardboard.

Hints and Tips:
         * When using hot glue/ craft glue, only put it on the edges so that it doesn't get in the way of the pins.
         * Use squares of different papers to create a patchwork look.
         * Glue buttons onto thumbtacks for decorative pins.


Soda Can Pencil Holder

Difficulty: ♥ ♥


 
Materials: Soda Can, can opener that crimps edges, acrylic based paint, brushes
         Optional: ribbon, decorative flowers, rhinestones, brads, etc.

1. Wash an empty soda can
2. Use the can opener to cut the top off of the can. (see left picture)
3. Paint the can the color that the main part of the can will be.
4. Paint the next largest layer.
5. Paint other objects or sceneries on the can.
6. Touch up can by paintin over all splatters, etc.
7. Add 3D accessories and other details.

Hints and Tips:
         * Paint the bottom of the can for a cohesive look
         * Mix paints to create a unique color.
         * Always use a primer! (especially when using red)


Clothes Pin Note Holders

DIFFICULTY: ♥



Materials: Wooden clothes pin, paint and brushes
          Optional: stickers, ribbon, rhinestones, flowers, etc.

1. Choose your wooden clothes pin and stand it on a table to make sure that it's level.
2. Paint clothes pin. Make sure that you paint all sides, inside, and on top. More than one coat may be necessary.
3. Add accessories as desired.
